Swimming history
In July 2003 Mitja Zastrow changed his German nationality to Dutch, after problems with the German swimming association.
In 2001 he placed first on the 100 freestyle at the German Nationals, but because of a hand injury he couldn’t go to Fukuoka.
At the Olympics in Athens he earned a spot in relayteam 4x100 meteres freestyle. Together with Johan Kenkhuis, Klaas Erik Zwering and Pieter van den Hoogenband he won the silver medal.
